... is a very very bad thing.
For Christmas my parents got me an external hard drive so that I can back up my pictures and whatever else I need. Well time has gone by and for a while now I have had this nagging thought that I really need to back up my pictures. I even got out my hard drive, hooked it up and was ready to start transferring files over, but I became distracted. I either had to go somewhere or do something else. Just this past monday I was telling my friend that I needed to back up my stuff still. Well guess what?? My hard drive on my computer went to junk! That's right. Tuesday night, my computer was on, then it stopped working. I turned it off, and when I turned it back on, I heard a clicking sound and a little envelope appeared with a question mark on it. My hard drive with all of my pictures and music and school files are GONE! At least for the time being. I will be taking measures to try to restore my photos and I hope it works.
I had to go buy a new hard drive and hook it up and set it up for my computer. I am happy to have my computer back. This was a bad time for it to go down esp since I have school assignments that are due via online submission.
So let this be a lesson to you- never dismiss that thought of backing up important files. I am not too worried about the other files. You can replace music and school data. I cannot replace pictures that well sadly. I will be backing up my stuff from here on out.
