This past week were supposed to be at the happiest place on earth. That's right. Disneyland. We made reservations about 2-3 months ago. It would have been Kody's first time and I have not been since high school and I don't know when the last time Kole went. I have never been to California adventure land and from what I hear, it's pretty amazing. I spent many hours on Thursday and Friday getting the house clean and laundry done so that the only thing I had to worry about when we got home was our dirty laundry. I had a paper to write before we left and had to get a dog sitter and everything. Even went to the shoe store and purchased some cute little nikes for Kody so she would have good shoes to wear while walking her legs off. Well, Saturday morning comes around and Kody comes whimpering in my room with the saddest face and tells me that she doesn't feel good. I pop up out of bed and bring her close to me and her arms and body and face are on fire. I rush to get her ear thermometer and whattaya know? 104.5 º temperature! I couldn't believe it. My poor baby was so sick. her sad little face with her sunken eyes. She didn't have any other symptoms that day. she did throw up once, but that is because she ate a donut hole (not fully given by me). She has been keeping her liquids down and was able to eat dry cereal later in the day. We had to let Kole's mom know what was up since she was going on the trip with us. We decided to just wait it out. Sometimes kids get fevers for no reason. I don't know if they get them that high, but still. Kole and his scout leader companion gave Kody a blessing. I was grateful for that. I was kinda stressed that day because I had yet to write my paper and when your child gets sick, they want to be extra snuggly. Kole had the scouts over that morning to work on some stuff, but when they left, Kole took over on the snuggling and I was able to get my paper done! I was so blessed. It took me only a couple hours to write and I ended up getting a 100% on it. Anyway, Sunday rolls around and Kody's fever is still crazy high. I think it got up to 104.7 in the middle of the night. And this is with an ear thermometer. I'm sure rectally it was about a degree higher. So sunday we had to postpone our trip. I am looking on the positive side that it is great that Kody got sick before we left! How crappy would it have been to get all the way there, have her get sick and then what? drive home with a sick kid who would have been miserable the entire time? So we'll go a little later and it will be better. I think she'll be able to enjoy it more. My poor little girl is still so sick. I finally gave in and took her to the doctor today, but only because she said her ear hurt and she was starting to get a nasty cough. I didn't want any of those infections getting worse. There is nothing they can do for the flu, so no need to rush to the doctor to waste money. Hopefully she'll start to feel better soon. It breaks my heart to hear her cough her little lungs out when she's trying to sleep. Thank goodness she has a nurse for a mommy. :)

What a bummer! I bet you want to clobber whoever got her sick? No? Kensie and I got sick and we were supposed to go to San Diego this week with Niel so I feel your pain. How do you know Mac and Julie? I know Mac from BYU and they just moved to Vegas. Looking forward to hanging out with them!
Good thing she has a nurse for a mommy indeed! I would have been to the DR at the site of 104. But I don't know all the stuff you do. You're so calm about missing the trip. I probably would have cried...Okay, I would have for sure. I'm so glad you found out before you left. I hope she's better soon.
Poor baby. I hate it when kids are sick. Sorry you had to miss our on Disneyland. Hopefully you guys will get to go soon.
