For Labor Day Kole and I went to the Cinders in Flagstaff. We took Kody up to his mom's house in Kingman thursday night. On Friday we drove to Flagstaff, set up camp and then Kole and I took the Rhino out for a spin so I would know how to drive it. I felt a little uneasy with the thing at first. I was driving the Rhino around while I was waiting for my quad to arrive which wouldn't be til saturday. Well anyway, We drove around, checked out the scenery, went to competition Hill and watched people ride up and down it. I even got the chance to go up Comp Hill with Kole's Boss's brother Randy in his dune buggy. I thought it was rather exciting. I was nervous at first because it looks so much worse than it is. Going up wasn't bad, but coming down, it felt steeper. Anyway, we spent the whole weekend riding around and we went to the Cherry bowl. it called that because the cinders there are all red instead of black like the rest of the place. I guess it was saturday when we went to the cherry bowl since I had my quad by then. I love the quad so much fore than the rhino. I could go over the whoops so much faster and I felt better in control of it. On sunday we went to the big volcano bowl. It was seriously huge. I loved it. I didn't go down into as other people do, but it was fun. After watching people go down and up it, our little group went to the top of the Bowl and that view was gorgeous. We went back to camp after playing around all morning and within 2 minutes of parking and getting under the canopy it started pouring rain. It even hailed a little. However when it rains it sure makes riding a lot better since their isn't nearly as much dust to get all over your face if you're behind someone. That night we went out way far to watch people drag race each other. That was pretty fun. We had to ride home in the dark though. It wasn't so bad with us who had lights on our quads and cars, but Kole and the guys who had motorcycles had to basically ride in the dark. They would trail behind us a bit so they could see something, but we all made it back to camp safely. It was a nice weekend. I did bring my school books with me. We did have a lot of down time and I wanted to take advantage of the all the free time while I was there. I did get a lot done and I was happy about that.
